That’s me, Jason Clements.

Art has been calling to me my whole life even when I wasn’t listening.
As a kid I loved it. I was always a little jealous of my friends who could draw cool characters, but I had my own favorites. I could draw a pretty mean Snoopy and Woodstock. For my senior art project I built a giant T-Rex out of paper mache that towered over everyone.
I looked forward to every school field trip to the Nelson-Atkins Museum, wandering through those quiet halls, completely mesmerized.
Then life got loud. College, rock bands, chasing careers, building businesses, raising a family. Everything took over. Art slowly faded into the background.
By 2024 I had been away from it so long I didn’t even remember how to properly load a watercolor brush. That’s how far I had drifted. But something pulled me back. I picked up the brush again, unsure and rusty, and something clicked. The calm I felt as a kid returned instantly. Sunflowers heavy with gratitude, quiet landscapes, simple still lifes, and playful experiments began flowing out of me again. After years of building companies and learning hard lessons, making art finally feels like coming home.
I’ve tried a lot of paths some successful, some spectacularly not. I started a lawn-mowing business at 18, played in rock bands, sold telecom, owned a franchise (never again), and co-founded Cells for Cells, a cell phone recycling company that supports families fighting cancer. Through all of it, the studio is where I feel most at peace.

So here I am a Kansas City artist painting with gratitude, calm, and quiet joy. I’m grateful you’re here, and I hope my work brings a little of that same peace into your life.
